I am thinking about buying a Mac. It depends what they announce at MacWorld.

I have a friend who is eagerly waiting to see whether they release their rumored subnotebook.
I’ve had a MacBook since June 2006 (when they first came out). OS X is nice. I like the machine itself, but it had a lot of problems in the beginning (including the widespread spontaneous shutdowns). It took a long time to sort out (Apple eventually gave me a new machine), and at this point I wouldn’t buy any Apple computer model that hadn’t already been on the market for six months and had its QA problems identified.
Everyone I know who bought a MacBook has had problems that required returning the laptop or taking it to an Apple store.
If I bought a laptop today it would be a MacBook Pro, but I have a feeling if I bought something now I would just be disappointed when they launch new stuff next week.
I know I’m late to the party on this one, but they do make some great machines. I love my MacBook Pro. Took a little while to adjust to the larger size, but it’s a great Mac, and a great Windows box when I need it to be that. A lot of nice little things about it too, like two finger scrolling (I have trouble using touchpads without this feature now, just like using a mouse without a scroll wheel seems weird now), and two finger clicking for right clicks (took me a while to learn that one). You’ve no doubt seen the mag-safe power cords as that’s been out forever, but it’s another nice little touch.
Anyway look forward to seeing what they announce and what you think about it!

So, does the new MacBook Air do anything for you?
